Police investigate deliberately lit fire at Ravenswood

Just before 2am on Sunday 21 April 2019, multiple crews from Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police Service attended a report of a house fire at Tahara Court Ravenswood. On arrival of emergency services the house was fully engulfed, however concerted efforts from Tasmania Fire Services prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring houses.

The house was severely damaged with an estimated damage bill of $220,000. A fire scene examiner attended the scene earlier today and determined the fire to deliberately lit.

No one was located inside the house at the time and no injuries were reported.

If anyone has information that may assist the investigation, Tasmania Police urge them to phone 131444. Police are particularly interested in speaking with the person who reported the fire. Information about the fire can also be provided anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestopperstas.com.au
