Police investigate Heidelberg Heights incident

Police are investigating following an incident in the drive-through of a fast-food restaurant in Heidelberg Heights on Saturday morning (8 June).

It is understood three males and a female inside a vehicle were talking to a female worker through the window of the Bell Street premises about 2am.

One of the occupants then removed a fire extinguisher from the vehicle and sprayed the worker in the face before driving away.

The 21-year-old victim was not injured during the incident.

Heidelberg Constable Kim Buffett said while there were no physical injuries, the worker had been visibly shaken.

“She has had to take time off work due to the shock of the unprovoked attack,” Constable Buffett said.

The offenders are perceived as Caucasian in appearance and were travelling in a dark-coloured vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing.
