Police investigate hit-run in Noble Park

Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol officers are investigating a hit-run collision in Noble Park last week that left a cyclist injured.

Investigators have been told a 59-year-old Pakenham man was cycling on Douglas Street about 6.40am on Thursday 13 April when he was passed by a white car.

The car came to a stop allowing the bicycle to pass and has then accelerated toward the rider, slightly mounting the curb, deliberately hitting the cyclist.

The victim fell off his bicycle and landed on the road as the car continued on, dragging the bike for over 100 meters.

The car is described as a white 2008-2017 Mitsubishi Lancer and was last seen driving northwest through the Douglas Street and Heatherton Road intersection.

The cyclist was left grazed and bruised and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigators have released CCTV and an image of the vehicle believed to have been involved.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, has CCTV/dashcam footage or information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppersvic.com.auExternal Link
