Police investigate Hoppers Crossing aggravated burglary

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary in Hoppers Crossing on 23 December.

Investigators have been told a man drove a van into the front door of the retail store on Old Geelong Road just after 7am.

Staff inside the premises confronted the man, who was attempting to steal bikes, before he fled empty handed in the van north along Old Geelong Road.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian with shoulder length blonde hair and was wearing a black hat and black bandana.

The grey van, a 2004 Nissan El Grand, registration 1RW 5YI, is believed to have been stolen on 22 November while parked on Palmers Road near the intersection of Charsworth Way in Williams Landing at 4.45pm.

The vehicle is reported to now have damage to the rear bumper.
