Investigators are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a sexual assault on a Melbourne tram.
Investigators have been told a man was observed performing lewd acts on board a number 16 tram which was travelling along St Kilda Road on 27 June around 6pm.
The offender performed the lewd acts in the presence of several passengers.
Investigators have released a digital image of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
The offender is perceived as Middle Eastern or European in appearance, aged between 40 to 50 years, about 6 foot tall with dark coloured hair.
At the time of the incident the offender was wearing a black tracksuit pants.
