Police investigate Long Gully house fire

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a suspicious house fire in Long Gully this morning.

A patrolling police unit observed the fire at the property on Derwent Drive just before 6am.

Fire Rescue Victoria attended and extinguished the fire which caused extensive damage to the unoccupied home.

Investigators are yet to establish the cause of the fire, however they are treating the blaze as suspicious.

A crime scene has been established and arson investigators will attend later this morning to examine the scene.
