Police investigate pedestrian collision in Braybrook

Police from Westgate Highway Patrol are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious pedestrian collision that left a woman with life-threatening injuries in Braybrook yesterday evening.

Investigators have been told a man and a woman had just gotten out of a taxi when the woman ran across Ballarat Road and was struck by a van about 9.15pm.

The woman, a 34-year-old from Williamstown, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and was uninjured.

The male passenger of the taxi left the scene prior to police arrival.

Police are hoping to identify the unknown man and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
