Police investigate robberies at Toowoomba City

Detectives from Toowoomba are investigating two separate incidents which occurred in Toowoomba City last night.

At about 8.20pm yesterday, a man and a woman aged 51 were walking along Boulton Terrace approaching the corner of Campbell Street, when a dark coloured SUV stopped behind them. Two or three people got out of the vehicle and approached the couple.

A man then punched the woman in the face causing minor injuries and at the same time grabbed her bag from her shoulder. He is described as being 35 to 45 years old, approximately 178cm tall, with a muscular build and a thick dark beard.

The people then re-entered the vehicle and drove east along Campbell Street with the bag. The woman received minor injuries to the face.

At about 8.30pm on the same night at nearby Norwood Street, a 26-year-old male pizza delivery driver had just completed a delivery when he was approached by two people, one armed with a small knife and demanded money.

The delivery driver declined and the offenders ran off in an easterly direction towards a medium sized red car.

Police would like to speak to two people, the first described as male, 18-years-old, 160 to 165cm tall with short black hair. The other is approximately 15-years-old, approximately 140 to 150cm tall with black curly hair.

Police are calling for any witnesses who may have been in the area or who may have dash cam from driving in the area at the time of the offence, to contact them.
