Police investigate robbery at Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are investigating a robbery in which a man was assaulted and had his bike stolen in Alice Springs earlier this month.

Around 2:40am on Saturday April 18, a man was riding a bicycle near the intersection of Ludgate and Campbell Streets when it is alleged he was attacked by an unknown group of people.

The man’s bike was stolen and the group fled down an alleyway to Tucker Street. The man sustained minor injuries.

Police are investigating another incident which occurred a short time later where a woman was assaulted by an unknown man when she was standing out the front of a home in Ludgate Street.

The man is described as being aged in his early to mid 20s, 6ft tall with a solid build, long black curly hair and of Indigenous appearance. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hoody and blue jeans and was in the company of two other young men.

Police believe the two incidents are linked and are calling for anyone with information that may assist with the investigations, to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 reference PROMIS 8950598.
