Police investigate robbery at East Victoria Park

Cannington Detectives are seeking further witnesses to a number of serious incidents that occurred in East Victoria Park on Monday 28 September 2020, for which a 38-year-woman has been charged.

Around 5.40pm the woman was at a shopping centre on Albany Highway. It will be alleged, the woman entered a number of stores and removed items and left without paying.

A security officer challenged her, taking back the stolen items and advised her he was calling police. The woman became angry, threatened the guard and assaulted him, before attempting to leave the shopping centre.

The woman was seen to push a man near an ice cream store, as well as another man on a bicycle who had a dog with him.

She was arrested by police a short distance away.

A 38-year-old woman from East Perth was charged with:-

• Robbery,

• Being armed in a way that may cause fear,

• Assault Public Officer,

• Trespass and,

• Stealing.

She is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 13 October 2020.
