Police are investigating a serious assault at Smithfield this evening.
About 5.45pm Monday 25 April emergency services were called to a licenced premises on Main North Road after reports of a serious assault.
Upon arrival at the scene police located a man with severe facial injuries. He has been rushed to the RAH in a serious but stable condition.
Police searched the area, but have been unable to locate the suspect at this time.
Although the investigation is in its early stages, police believe this was not a random attack.
This assault is not linked to a recent stabbing murder in Adelaide.
