Police investigate sexual assault of elderly woman in South Yarra

Bayside Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are appealing for public assistance following a sexual assault in South Yarra last month.

Investigators have been told the offender waited for the elderly woman to enter a lift on Simmons Street, before he exposed himself to her about 2pm on 1 April.

He then followed the woman to another floor and sexually assaulted her.

The offender then fled the scene on foot.

He is perceived to be of Asian appearance, in his mid-20’s about 180cm tall with short shaved black hair and unkempt facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper with the word ‘Jordan’ written on the back along with black pants and black sneakers.

Investigators have released footage of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
