Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a death in Shepparton yesterday evening.
Emergency services responded to reports of a woman with serious injuries at an address on McCubbin Drive about 6.10pm.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 28-year-old Shepparton man is assisting police with their enquiries.
Police are working to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
