Police investigate shooting at Wanilla, South Australia

Detectives from Port Lincoln CIB are investigating a shooting that occurred in February this year, and are appealing for further information to locate the suspects.

On Friday 15 February, a 30-year-old Port Lincoln man was shot in the leg at Forest Road, Wanilla, 25km northwest of Port Lincoln.

It is suspected that the unarmed man was shot over a drug debt. He was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries to his leg, and has required ongoing treatment since the shooting.

Police were only alerted to the man’s injuries when he was taken to hospital by friends.

Investigators have since identified the scene where the shooting occurred and the area has been forensically examined. Important evidence has been found, including bullets and shell casings. Police are also following leads regarding the location of the firearm used in the shooting.
