Police have commenced an investigation after the body of a man was located in Sydney’s east.
About 9.30am today (Wednesday 9 August 2023), police responded to reports of a body located in a water way at a golf course on Wentworth Avenue, Eastlakes.
Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the matter.
Police have been informed that the body was located by contractors conducting a pest inspection in the nearby vicinity.
Assistance was sought from the Police Diving Unit and Scene of Crime officers.
The body is believed to be that of a man who was wearing black shorts and blue sneakers. It is believed he may have been at the location for several days.
The man is yet to be formally identified and it is not yet known whether the death is suspicious.
