Police investigating enter with intent at Ashmore

Gold Coast detectives are investigating separate break and enters of an Ashmore small supermarket and convenience store believed to be linked.

Two males arrived at the Slatyer Avenue business on Sunday, March 20 this year around 1am in a stolen white 1998 Toyota Hilux utility, climbing onto the roof and gaining entry to the store.

Inside the pair used power tools to force open an ATM removing a significant amount of cash before fleeing through the roof and leaving in the stolen vehicle.

The ute was found the following day on March 21 burnt out near the Coombabah wetlands.

Then on Sunday, May 22 around 12.30am two masked thieves have entered the same Slatyer Avenue convenience store by forcing their way through the roof.

The pair then used a power tool to break into an ATM located within the store and removed a significant amount of cash.

A Landcruiser stolen from Avi Court in Labrador was located on fire a short time later in Liam Court.

Investigators urge anyone who witnessed either of these incidents, or have information that could assist in identifying those responsible to contact them.
