Police investigating overnight shooting

Northern District Detectives are investigating an incident overnight where was man was shot in the leg.

Just before 10pm on Thursday 17 September, a 31-year-old Elizabeth North man presented at the Lyell McEwin Hospital with a suspected gunshot wound to the lower left leg. The injury is serious but not life threatening.

The injured man was driven to the hospital in a white 2019 Hyundai Kona hatchback with a Victorian Registration 1PY4WQ. This car was later found burnt out at 4.30am on Friday 18 September in a paddock on William Road at Gould Creek.

This is not considered a random assault and it is believed that all parties are known to each other.

Investigations are ongoing with police still establishing further details about the incident, although there are no suggestions that the incident is linked to any OMCG groups.
