Police investigating robbery at Townsville

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a stolen car after a woman was assaulted in Garbutt overnight.

Around 2.20am a 22-year-old Townsville woman was parked in Pilkington Street when another car has smashed into her. When she has got out of her car the woman was assaulted by three or four teenagers who where in the other vehicle.

They have then fled the area in her car as well as the one they had been travelling in.

The woman walked to a nearby service station and contacted police.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to the stolen car, a white Hyundai Accent with Queensland Registration 502DQ9.

The other car involved was later located abandoned in Vincent.

Investigations are continuing and anyone with further information in relation to the teenagers involved or dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
