Police investigating wounding at South Townsville

Police have charged a 46-year-old man following an alleged wounding at South Townsville yesterday morning.

Initial investigations indicate an altercation occurred at approximately 8am at a Griffith Street unit complex, during which a 44-year-old man was struck to the arm with a saw.

The 44-year-old was transported to Townsville Hospital in a stable condition.

The unit was declared a crime scene, and a 46-year-old local man was taken into custody without incident.

He has been charged with one count of wounding.

His bail has been refused and he is expected to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday, May 15.
