Police investigating wounding atcident Southport

Police are investigating after a man sustained a stab wound to his back at a unit at Southport yesterday afternoon.

Around 3.20pm a 36-year-old man was in his Barton Street unit when two men entered through an unlocked door and made demands for money.

There was a confrontation between the men at which time the male occupant was stabbed.

The two men fled the scene without obtaining any money or property.

The man was transported to hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
