Police lay armed robbery charges at Rockhampton

Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery in Rockhampton City on Wednesday, November 15.

It will be alleged a woman was sitting in a car on George Lane around 5.15pm, when an unknown man approached the vehicle and threatened her with a knife.

The woman ran from the car and the man fled in the black Mazda 3.

Around 4.35am on November 16, the car was located abandoned at the intersection of Flounder Crescent and John Dory Drive, Gladstone.

Yesterday afternoon detectives arrested a man at a Toolooa residence.

The 20-year-old Oconnell man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evade police and stealing. He has also been charged with two counts of assault police.

No one was physically injured during the incident.
