Police Lay Armed Robbery Charges At Slacks Creek

Two teenage boys have been charged over an alleged robbery and stolen vehicle incident after Polair tracked them overnight.

It will be alleged around 2.40am on March 20 a red Hyundai Kona was stolen from a house at Lota.

Around 5pm yesterday, March 21, a male has attended a convenience store in Queens Road at Slacks Creek.

It will be alleged the male threatened a staff member with a firearm, demanding money.

The victim activated an alarm and the male fled from the store without obtaining cash before entering the passenger door of the stolen Hyundai Kona which drove away.

Around 9pm, police observed the vehicle travelling north on the Pacific Motorway at Elanora and Polair commenced tracking the vehicle.

The vehicle continued north through Logan onto the Gateway Motorway travelling on to the Bruce Highway where it exited at Caboolture. A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed at this location around 10.35pm.

The vehicle returned to the Bruce Highway and headed south continuing to the Gateway Motorway and onto the Pacific Motorway.

The vehicle exited onto Kingston Road and travelled through to Browns Plains Road where it stopped in Kao Street in Marsden.

The two teenagers fled the car but were arrested by police around 11.45pm.

A 17-year-old and a 14-year-old boy both from Logan have been charged with property crime offences including attempted armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a weapon (Category A firearm).

Investigations are ongoing.
