Police lay arson charges, Coomera 10 August

Gold Coast Detectives have charged a woman following investigations into a fire that occurred at Coomera residence last week, July 31.

It will be alleged that emergency services were called to the Fortune Street address around 4:15pm following reports of a unit fire.

A 37-year-old male occupant of the unit suffered significant injuries and remains in a Brisbane-based hospital.

Following investigations into the fire, detectives yesterday arrested a 60-year-old Woodend woman.

It will be alleged that the male occupant and the woman were known to each other.

She has been charged with arson, grievous bodily harm, and endangering property by fire.

She is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today, August 10.
