Police Lay Assault Charges At Surfers Paradise 10 April

Gold Coast Detectives have charged three juveniles after an alleged serious assault on another teenager in Surfers Paradise.

Just before 8pm on Saturday, April 6, it will be alleged a 16-year-old Pimpama girl was assaulted by a group of youths in Cavill Avenue.

She was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two Southport girls, aged 16 and 17, have both been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm while intoxicated and affray in a public place while intoxicated.

A 16-year-old Coomera boy has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and affray.

All three are due to appear at Southport Childrens Court on April 17.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police.

Investigations by the Gold Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit with the assistance of Taskforce Guardian and Digital Intelligence and Community Engagement are ongoing.
