Police lay charges after Maribyrnong burglary

Police have laid charges following a burglary in Maribyrnong on Monday.

The charges relate to an alleged burglary at a home on Burton Crescent about 7am on 17 October.

It is alleged a man entered an unoccupied home and stole several personal items before fleeing in a waiting blue Ford Territory.

It is understood two other males remained in the vehicle during the incident.

Investigators from Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit and local police arrested two men in Sunshine West around 10.30am today.

A 26-year-old Sunshine West man received 12 charges including burglary, obtain property by deception and handle stolen goods.

He was bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 11 April, 2023.

A 33-year-old Sunshine West man is expected to be charged on summons with deception offences and will appear at a Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

Police are still seeking to identify a third man who may be able to assist them with their enquiries.
