Police lay charges – Aggravated assault at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 21-year-old male for aggravated assault.

Around 8:30pm on Tuesday 8 September, the man attended a service station in Casuarina and allegedly attempted to steal a number of food items. An employee stopped him, recovered the items, and escorted him from the store. The male then allegedly struck the employee to the face and left the scene.

Strike Force Trident officers identified the male following investigations. He was located by police on Thursday 10 September and taken into custody.

He has been charged with aggravated assault and will appear before Darwin Local Court today.
