Police lay charges – Aggravated burglary in Darwin CBD

Northern Territory Police have arrested three youths following an unlawful entry and an aggravated robbery at two locations on Smith Street earlier this week.

At 9:15pm on Tuesday, the group unlawfully entered a licensed business and stole a quantity of cash before fleeing to a service station nearby. The group confronted the service station operator but fled the scene before police arrival.

Strike Force Trident Detectives took carriage of the investigation and immediately identified the offenders, arresting two of the youths on Wednesday morning and the final youth yesterday.

The boys, aged between 12 and 14, were all charged with aggravated burglary, serious breach of bail and other property offences. They will appear in court at a later date.

Police urge anyone who witnesses crime or anti-social behaviour to report it on 131 444 or in an emergency ring Triple Zero.
