Police lay charges – Burglary at Casuarina

Northern Territory Police have charged a youth in relation to an unlawful entry in Casuarina earlier this week.

Around 8:30pm on 9 October 2023, it is alleged that 3 youths unlawfully entered a shopping centre on Trower Road, Casuarina.

The group has allegedly unlawfully entered a business within the centre and stolen a number of hunting items and weapons, including a crossbow and various knives.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident identified the 3 male youths allegedly involved, aged 8, 10 and 17, and at 1pm yesterday, the 17-year-old was arrested at an address in Malak.

He has since been charged with:

  • Damage property
  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Possess controlled weapon

He was remanded to appear in court today.

Most of the stolen items were recovered across known residences in the northern suburbs and investigations remain ongoing.

The 8 and 10-year-old have been referred to the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities.
