Police lay charges over sexual touching, stalking of girls in Northern Beaches

A man has been charged over the alleged sexual touching and stalking of teenagers in the Northern Beaches.

About 12.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 6 December 2022), a 17-year-old girl was with a 16-year-old girl and another girl, aged 17, at a shopping centre in Condamine Street, Brookvale, when they were allegedly approached by a man.

Police will allege in court that the man began to film them and other young girls nearby before he sexually touched the 17-year-old girl.

As the girls tried to move away, the man allegedly continue to follow them through the shopping centre.

A short time later, officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were called and spoke with a 37-year-old man before seizing his mobile phone to undergo forensic examination.

The man was taken to Manly Police Station, where he was charged with sexually touch another person without consent, common assault, and three counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Manly Local Court today (Wednesday 7 December 2022).
