Police lay charges – Property offending – Northern Suburbs

Northern Territory Police have arrested two people in relation to property offending in the Northern Suburbs.

Just after 2am on Wednesday, it is alleged two males, aged 16 and 20, unlawfully entered a commercial business in Marrara, causing significant damage to the property before fleeing the scene with a quantity of alcohol.

It will be further alleged the same two males and a third unknown man, unlawfully entered an occupied residence in Malak where they stole various items before driving off in the occupant’s vehicle.

Strike Force Trident members, with the assistance of the Dog Operations Unit, located and arrested the 16 year old and 20 year old offenders yesterday afternoon.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with:

  • Unlawful entry – building
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling
  • Damage to property
  • Stealing x 2
  • Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle
  • Recruitment of a child
  • Breach of bail – adult

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

A 16-year-old male has been charged with:

  • Unlawful entry – building
  • Unlawful entry – dwelling
  • Damage to property
  • Stealing x 2
  • Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle

He was bailed to appear in court on 14 March 2022.

Investigations to identify the third offender continue.
