Police lay murder charge at Tarragindi

South Brisbane detectives have charged a man following investigations into the death of a 53-year-old Tarragindi man in an alleged hit and run incident in Tarragindi earlier this year.

Around 4am on February 18, the man was jogging along Strathfield Street when it is believed he was struck by a vehicle.

He sustained critical head injuries and was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was pronounced deceased on Sunday, March 31.

A 32-year-old Tarragindi man has been charged with one count each of murder, driver of vehicle fail to remain at an incident and assist injured persons showing callous disregard, and one count of unlicensed driving. He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
