Police lay murder charges at Maryborough area

Detectives have charged a man with murder after a woman was found deceased at a home near Maryborough yesterday afternoon, January 28.

It will be alleged, at 5.30pm, a 43-year-old Owanyilla man attended the Maryborough Police Station.

Police subsequently attended a house on Old Gympie Road in Owanyilla and located a 30-year-old Maryborough woman deceased inside the house.

It will be further alleged the man and woman are known to each other.

The 43-year-old Owanyilla man has been charged with one count of murder (domestic violence offence) and will appear in the Maryborough Magistrates Court today, January 29.
