Major Crash Investigators have charged a man as a result of their investigation into a fatal crash that occurred in Kununurra on Saturday, 23 November 2019.
It is alleged the man was the driver of a Nissan utility carrying five passengers that crashed on Valentine Spring Road around 10.40am.
A female passenger received critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.
It is further alleged the man left the scene of the crash prior to police arrival.
The 43-year-old man from Kununurra has been charged with:-
• Three counts of Driver Failed to Stop and Ensure Assistance Received after Incident Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm; and
• One count of Driver Fail to Report and Incident Occasioning Death or Grievous Bodily Harm.
He is due to appear before the Kununurra Magistrates Court on 27 March 2020.
