Police make arrest after two indecent assaults in city, South Australia

A man from Adelaide’s southern suburbs has been charged with two counts of indecent assault after incidents in the CBD.

About 5.35pm on Monday 9 November, a victim stated she was walking on a track between South Terrace and Glen Osmond Road in Adelaide when a man allegedly pushed her to the ground and indecently assaulted her. A member of the public came to the victim’s assistance and the man left the area.

Around 9pm the same day, a second victim advised she was approached by a man on North Terrace in Adelaide. The man walked up behind her and indecently assaulted her. With the assistance of a passer-by the victim pushed the offender away.

After an investigation, Detectives from Eastern District CIB arrested a 48-year-old man from the southern suburbs and charged him with two counts of indecent assault. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance and are asking for any witnesses to either assault to please come forward. If anyone has any dashcam footage at Glen Osmond Road and South Terrace or the North Terrace incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
