Police make arrest – Aggravated robbery – Bakewell

Northern Territory Police, through the diligent efforts of Strike Force Trident, have successfully apprehended a group of offenders responsible for a violent incident at a supermarket in Bakewell.

Just before 3:30pm on 26 January 2024, a group of youths were seen allegedly taking food and drink items off the shelves. Store management called upon a nearby security guard who attempted to move on the group, when he was assaulted, suffering injuries to his face.

Yesterday morning, Strike Force Trident members attended a residence in Moulden after identifying the offenders allegedly involved and arrested four youths, aged between 13 and 17. They have since all been charged with aggravated robbery.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Humphries said, “Our proactive response ensures that those responsible are brought to justice swiftly, maintaining public safety to our community.”
