Northern Territory Police have arrest two youths in relation to an incident at a commercial business in Berrimah overnight.
The youths allegedly assaulted a women with a blunt weapon before stealing a commercial truck which was operating in the area. A short police pursuit took place which was bought to an end with the use of a tyre deflation device. The victim was treated on scene with no serious injuries.
A second youth was arrested a short time later in which it is alleged he threw an object striking a police vehicle.
Strike Force Trident detectives have charged the youths with the following:
A 17-year-old has been charged with:
- Aggravated robbery
- Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle
- Stealing
- Recklessly endangering serious harm
- Drive high range blood alcohol content
- Going armed in public
- Damage roadway
- Not stop after crash
- Resist police in execution of duty
- Drive without L plates
- Breach order of suspended sentence
- Drive dangerous during pursuit
- Possess / Carry / Use controlled weapon x2
- Damage to property x3
A 16-year-old has been charged with:
- Throw projectile at moving vehicle
- Resist police
Both males were remanded in custody to appear before court on Monday 6 September.
