Police Make Arrest – Domestic Violence In Alice Springs 12 November

Northern Territory Police have arrested a man in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred in Alice Springs overnight.

Around 11.10pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received a report from a woman that she had been stabbed by her brother with an edged weapon at a residence on Head Street, Braitling. The offender also allegedly physically assaulted his 54-year-old mother before fleeing the scene.

Emergency services responded and located the 24-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds to her body as well as a suspected broken finger. She was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The alleged offender, a 33-year-old man, returned to the residence a short time later and was arrested without incident.

A crime scene was declared, and investigations are ongoing.
