Police make arrest – Property offences in Alice Springs 20 October

Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged two people in relation to property offences in Alice Springs.

A 22-year-old man who was captured on CCTV footage in the yard of an Araluen home, was arrested and charged with one count each of Trespass on Premises and Breach of Bail.

He will face an additional charge of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a motor vehicle in relation to a motor vehicle theft in October 2019.

A 17-year-old male has been summonsed to appear before court at a later date in relation to the unlawful entry of a licensed premises in August.

On 17 August, it is alleged the youth and another unknown offender gained entry into the business on Gap Road, stealing slabs of alcohol when they were disturbed by a security guard. The pair dropped the alcohol and fled the location.

Detectives from Strike Force Viper located the youth yesterday, and he was arrested and charged with one count each of Aggravated Unlawful Entry – Building and Attempt to commit an offence.

Strike Force Viper is a dedicated team of detectives investigating property and volume crime, centering around residential and commercial unlawful entries and stolen motor vehicles.
