Police make arrests after an eagle-eyed member of public spots Clayton break-in

An eagle-eyed member of the public has alerted police to a group of men allegedly breaking into vehicles in Clayton overnight.

The witness was driving along Princes Highway when she spotted four men inside a car yard at the intersection of Clayton Road just after midnight.

She called Triple 0 and kept the men under observation until police arrived and arrested them without incident.

Three men, a 17-year-old from Boronia, a 23-year-old from Ringwood and a 28-year-old from Dandenong, are all expected to be charged on summons with attempted theft of motor vehicle, tamper with motor vehicle, criminal damage and going equipped to steal.

A 25-year-old Dandenong man was bailed for outstanding warrants and is expected to be change in relation to the incident at a later date.
