Police make arrests – Property offences in Darwin City

Northern Territory Police have arrested four people in relation to an unlawful entry at a business in Darwin City overnight.

At around 1:30am, several unknown individuals unlawfully entered the business on Mitchell Street, causing minor damage and stealing a quantity of alcohol.

At 4:20am, CCTV operators were alerted to four males allegedly carrying alcohol towards Spillet Park.

Two youths aged 17, and two men, aged 45 and 37, were arrested.

Detectives from Strike Force Trident will charge the 45-year-old with:

  • 5 x Aggravated unlawful entry – building
  • 5 x Stealing

The 37-year-old is expected to be charged with:

  • 1 x Aggravated unlawful entry – building
  • 1 x Stealing

A 17-year-old is expected to be charged with:

  • 1 x Aggravated unlawful entry – building
  • 1 x Stealing

They are all expected to appear in Darwin Local Court at a later date.

The other 17-year-old will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2005.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said, “Investigations into this incident are ongoing.
