Police make arrests – Stolen motor vehicles in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested four youths and recovered two stolen motor vehicles in Alice Springs overnight.

A white Toyota Hilux utility, which had been stolen in an unlawful entry of a building on Bath Street earlier in the evening, was observed driving around Alice Springs just before midnight.

Officers successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at which point four occupants fled the scene.

Police Dog Quake was deployed and tracked the offenders in nearby bushland who were subsequently taken into custody.

Two male youths aged 12 and 14-years-old were arrested and are expected to be charged later today.

A 13-year-old male and a 15-year-old male will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

A second vehicle which was stolen in the same unlawful entry was recovered by police overnight.

Investigations into recent unlawful entries in the Alice Springs CBD area, continue.
