Police recover stolen jewelery in Glen Eira burglary bust

Detectives from the Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit are attempting to reunite suspected stolen jewellery with its rightful owners.

Investigators recovered a large amount of allegedly stolen property as part of an investigation into a series of alleged burglaries in the Glen Eira area between November 2019 and August 2020.

Although some items have already been returned to their owners, investigators still have a long list of items they are hoping to reunite.

Items yet to be returned include personal jewellery, cufflinks, vases, ceramic statues, metal statues, assorted collectable coins, medallions, personal security items, camera equipment, a safe, and a coin tray with assorted property.

A 42-year-old Caulfield South man has been charged with four counts of aggravated burglary; he was remanded to appear at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

It is alleged the man targeted mainly elderly victims, some of which may not be aware the items have been stolen.

If anyone believes they own any of the stolen goods, they are asked to contact the Moorabbin Police Station 9556 6565.

Anyone claiming an item will be required to provide proof of ownership.
