Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Booubyjan

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal single vehicle traffic crash in Booubyjan today.

At approximately 12.10pm, police were called to a crash on the Burnett Highway, near Ross Road.

Initial investigations indicate a car, with two occupants, was travelling south on the Burnett Highway when it veered off the road and rolled.

The driver of the car, a 77-year-old Yeppoon woman, was entrapped and declared deceased at the scene.

The passenger, a 14-year-old Brisbane girl, was seriously injured and has been airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV from the area around the time of the incident is urged to contact police.
