Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Cromarty

Townsville Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Cromarty north of Giru yesterday, April 27.

Around 1.45pm, emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway near Emmett Creek, following reports a silver MG ZST station wagon travelling north had collided with a Kenworth prime mover travelling south.

The driver and sole occupant of the MG, a 51-year-old man from Victoria, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the prime mover, a 55-year-old man, was not physically injured.

The investigation is ongoing.

Any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
