Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Kawana

The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating following a fatal single vehicle crash at Kawana, in Rockhampton, last night, November 11.

Initial investigations indicate around 3am, a Holden Berlina sedan was travellin along Crane Avenue before it lost control and struck a tree.

Officers arrived on scene a short time later and attempted to treat the driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Rockhampton woman, but she was declared deceased at the scene.

A 17-year-old girl, the single passenger of the vehicle, was transported to Rockhampton Hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and are appealing to anyone why may have witnessed the incident, vehicle, or may have relevant CCTV/dashcam vision, to come forward.
