Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Incident At Malmoe

A man has died following a traffic incident that occurred in Malmoe, west of Gayndah, early this morning, September 1.

Initial investigations indicate just after 12.30am, a pedestrian was travelling along the Burnett Highway, near Malmoe Road, when they were struck by a utility.

The pedestrian, a 53-year-old Eli Waters man, sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The utility driver, a 50-year-old Sunshine Acres man, was not physically injured and is assisting police with enquiries.

Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV from the area to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
