Police Responding To Traffic Crash At Palm Beach

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a serious traffic crash in Palm Beach this afternoon, 1 October.

Initial investigations indicate around 2.10pm a white Hyundai Kona was travelling south on the Gold Coast Highway when the car left the roadway and struck two pedestrians on the footpath at the intersection with Tallebudgera Drive.

One of the pedestrians, a woman in her 30’s, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition. A man in his 30’s, was also transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the Hyundai Kona, a 76-year-old Southport man, was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital as a precaution.

A female passenger in her 60’s was not physically injured in the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
