Police search for driver after crash at Morphett Vale, South Australia

Southern District Police are searching for the driver of a white Statesman after it crashed into a child care centre at Morphett Vale overnight.

Just after 10.30pm on Tuesday 16 June, police and MFS crews responded to calls from the public, after a car had crashed into the child care centre on Flaxmill Road.

On arrival, a 2015 white Statesman had careered into the front entrance of the premises causing extensive structural damage to the building. The driver had fled prior to police arrival.

Police spoke to a number of witnesses who described the incident as a deliberate act.

A police dog patrol searched the area but the male driver who is known to police wasn’t located. A police crime scene examiner has also attended to examine the vehicle.

Police investigations are continuing, anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
