Police seek information on Aggravated robbery at Nhulunbuy

Northern Territory Police are continuing to seek information and potential witnesses to a serious incident that occurred in the early hours of Monday 16 August.

At around 12.30am a number of offenders unlawfully entered a house on Pandora Circuit. An adult male confronted one of the offenders and was subsequently assaulted with a blunt weapon and received significant injuries. He is currently in Gove District Hospital and will soon be transferred to Royal Darwin Hospital for surgery.

A 17-year-old male has been charged with aggravated robbery, and bailed away from the community. Investigations are ongoing into the incident.

Senior Sergeant Michael Milde of Nhulunbuy Police said, “We are asking for further assistance from the tight knit Nhulunbuy Community after our initial call for information on Monday. If anyone saw or heard anything suspicious occurring on the night in question on Pandora Circuit, please contact Nhulunbuy Police on 89 87133 or 131 444. This was a particularly disturbing crime and fortunately rare in this community. We strongly believe this is an isolated incident however everyone should have the right to be safe in their own homes at night and Nhulunbuy Police are working tirelessly to put these offenders before the court”.
