Police seek information on Overdue party – Cape Fourcroy

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a possible overdue party north of Cape Fourcroy.

About 3:00pm on Sunday 19 July 2020, police received a request for assistance from an unknown person stating their 5-metre vessel had broken down north of Cape Fourcroy on the western side of Bathurst Island. A subsequent check of the area did not locate any vessels and no further radio contact has been made. There has been no EPRIB activation or distress call/signal made and no parties have been reported as being overdue or unaccounted for.

An aerial search of the location is about to be undertaken.

Police are urgently seeking information to confirm whether there are any parties currently overdue. If you know someone that went fishing in this area and it could be them or if the persons involved self-recovered please let us know.
